EDR 101

Election Day Registration (EDR) – go to the polls, register, and vote on the same day. So simple.  Right now, you have to register 30 days in advance.  It’s no wonder that half of the eligible voters in Hawaii don’t even bother to try.  Let’s get them out there!

Click here for some good background info on the topic of EDR by DEMOS, a good-govt think tank in NYC.

A Little Inspiration

Mr Smith Goes to WashingtonIf you’re new to these topics, or need a little inspiration, check out one of the best good-government movies of all time:  “Mr. Smith Goes To Washington.”  Oscar winner, filmed in 1939, directed by Frank Capra.  Jimmy Stewart plays a young U.S. Senator who fights against corruption, keeping in mind “the only causes worth fighting for are the lost causes.”  Gotta love it.
